So, for my first bareMinerals haul, I got two of the eight-pan palettes from their READY line. I reviewed the first one I got (The September Issue) already, pretty extensively, over here. The other one I got (The Cocktail Hour) I wasn’t even eyeing, but the sale price was just too much to resist.
At $17, down from $40, I get eight top-notch shadows in colors that–let’s face it—are actually more me.
The palette comes with a full-sized mirror and a double ended brush. The colors are:
- Black Tie Optional — a matte grey black
- Icebreaker — a cool frosty pink nude with a bit of shimmer
- Swanky — a shimmery midtone plum with warm red undertones
- Spiked — a frosty pinky peach coral
- Elixir — a frosty pinky lavender
- Invite Only — a frosty metallic taupe with olive undertones
- Libation — a warm champagne with somewhat frosty finish with reflective shimmer
- Shaken Not Stirred — a deep navy with a matte finish and blue shimmers
I love the story that this palette tells. To me, even just with the names, it seems to “talk” about jazz clubs and retro lounges, and for some reason, it reminds me of the Jetsons. It’s like the more sophisticated and posh grown-up sister of The September Issue.
Again, these are one-swipe swatches. The more shimmery shades are grittier in texture, but there’s no fallout and they are still buttery though slightly rougher than the satin counterparts, which are just a dream to apply.
I used it for this random FOTD and it was awesome quality, as usual. I followed “Look 2” on the guide it came with. It felt too dark for the day time, but it was too late to redo my makeup!
Face: Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow (Cheers to Me Champagne), bareMinerals Mineral Veil, K-Palette Kuma 0 Cover Control (02 Yellow Beige), bareMinerals READY Luminizer (The Love Affair)

Hi Karina, just curious 🙂 How long does it take for your online orders to ship (i.e. this palette from bareescentuals?)
Hello! It really depends. I used My Shopping Box (which has a tie-up with GCash and American Express) and they were very quick with shipment. Maybe a week lang. However, it was Bare Escentuals that took so long dispatching the order the MSB’s American address. Hope that helps!
Oooh how beautiful these shades are! I’ve yet to try the new pressed formula from Bare Minerals, but I’m really dying to. I love Spiked in particular.
You really should! They’re great quality. I’m constantly impressed! 🙂
I think you look nice, and definitely not too much for daytime 🙂
Thanks Maita! 🙂

I know; I can’t wait to use them! 🙂 Also, thank you!
