Hello everyone!
I just thought I’d write about today’s look, just because I worked with mostly cream shadows today and that’s a first for me. 🙂 I also dug up one of my first and favorite lipsticks—MAC’s Jubilee.
This is just a simple look I wore to lunch with my sister Isabel, and Sarie. My base consists of Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Liquid Foundation in Cheers to Me Champagne and bareMinerals Mineral Veil. Part of me wishes I got the Mineral Veil with SPF, so I can go out without foundation but still look polished. Ah, well.
For the eyes, I patted on MAC Paint Pot in Rubenesque all over the lid. On the outer v and outer half of the crease, I applied Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow/Liner in Stiletto. To deepen said crease, I put on a little bit of Sexy from theBalm Nude ‘Tude Palette, and then I blended out any remaining harsh edges.
I lined my eyes (pretty shoddily) with K-Palette 24H Real Lasting Eyeliner and did my brows using The Body Shop Brow and Liner Kit in 02. I also attempted to layer mascaras, which is why they look like they took a trip to clump city.
I used Majolica Majorca Lash Expander Frame Plus 12, and on top of that, I applied Maybelline The Falsies.
I used bareMinerals READY Luminizer in The Love Affair, and then Nature Republic’s Shine Blossom Rose Blusher in 04 Lovely Rose. It’s alright, but as you can see—or not see, heh heh—it does not stay on very long. This was taken after said lunch! (I’m a bit sweaty, sorry. Tropical country.)
The lips, as I said, are courtesy of MAC Jubilee, which I guess isn’t exactly nude, but I feel like it’s the lightest beige I can go without washing my face out. I still think it looks pretty.
Here are the products used, minus the luminizer, because I forgot to place it there. 😦 I a fail.

Careng, how do you feel about BB cream? And what’s a good moisturizer? My skin’s dry in the morning so it’s hard to apply anything. Nice eyes, btw!
Hi Nash! 🙂 I’m alright with BB Creams. Most that I’ve tried make me look a bit grey/white but I think it’s because my undertone is yellow and not pink! But IDK for sure.
I liked the one from The Body Shop well enough, but I haven’t used that in a while so I’ll try it on again and let you know 😀
I use Celeteque’s Moisturizing Mist, as suggested by Sheena Siao, because it’s fuss-free and inexpensive. So far, so good. 🙂
Okay, I think I’ll try Celeteque too. I used to wash my face with it but never got around to the moisturizing part. Thanks for clearing up the undertones. I was wondering about those too and I do look forward to your Body Shop BB cream post. Tried Maybelline’s Fresh BB stick and I like it but it makes me look a bit too white. Any tips/experiences with tinted moisturizers? I think it just feels funny to apply liquid stuff with color because I can’t tell if I’m covering all parts of my face equally. 🙂 Oh, one last thing: make-up for gals with glasses? I know you don’t wear a pair but do you know people who do? Sorry, I never had sisters who were into beauty and the only advice mom gave me was to wash my face with soap and water. 🙂 Haha! Miss you!

Also, thank you! 🙂 I think some BB Creams are moisturizing (?) but maybe you can look into Tinted Moisturizers.
Carina! What do ‘undertones’ mean and how do I find out what mine is? (Are?) And what do they mean for lipsticks? (…with blue not orange undertones…”)
Hey Anna,
It just means what color your skin leans towards. That’s the simplest way I can put it, I guess. For example, Asian people typically have yellow undertones which means it just appears more yellow-beige than say, Caucasians who typically have pink undertones, so their skin appears more beige. There are dark-skinned ladies who are more “olive” than brown, and so forth. You can visit a beauty counter and ask an Sales Assistant for help if you’re not sure what your skin’s undertones are. Obviously, I’m not an expert but I know my skin is more yellow, just because it’s a bit easy to tell. 🙂
As for shades of color makeup, blue-toned red lipsticks just means that they are “cooler” and not “warmer.” There’s a slight hint of blue in the hue, as opposed to yellow-toned reds which are warmer and lean more towards the yellow-orange end of the color spectrum. Usually “cool” colors go with cool skintones (veins show up blue under the skin), while “warm” colors go with warm skintones (veins show up greenish under the skin).
I don’t know if you can get what I mean with how I’m explaining it, so if you’re still confused, you can just do a Google search because the Internet is a giant resource. 😀 Again, you can also just ask help picking out the right shade for you from your SA. 🙂 Also, of course, you can always just break the rules and go with what you think looks nice on you.

I’m jealous of your good results with cream eyeshadows. I am drawn to them like a magnet, but I can never seem to get them right. They either crease a lot or simply have no staying power and disappear within an hour or two.
Maybe you can use a primer underneath? 🙂 I love cream shadows, but certain brands like elf, crease on me too sometimes.
