Quickie: MAC Amplified Cream Lipstick in Impassioned

MAC Impassioned

Here’s another quick review of a MAC lipstick! Impassioned is described as an “amped-up fuschia,” which also translates to “way outside of my comfort zone.” Notice the almost-pristine bullet?

MAC Amplified Cream - Impassioned - Swatch

I don’t think I’ve actually worn this out of the house before I was preparing this review, but for the sake of a good laugh, I did and this is what that looked like:

MAC - Impassioned - whole Face

It was not a good self-esteem day, so have mirror pictures!

Anyway. I think this would look best with a clean, fresh eye look or soft, brown neutrals. Impassioned is my only MAC lipstick with an “amplified cream” finish, so I can’t really compare it to anything else from that group. I’m ambivalent about it, which I guess means that I like it a bit better than creamsheens, which I dislike so much that I won’t buy anything more of if I can help it.

I think I’m warming up to pink lipsticks! I feel like I can’t wear anything too girly is all. However, I kind of do like how this one looks. What do you think?

  1. How does this compare to Girl About Town? That’s the only one I have from the Amplified line and I’m starting to think it’s too loud for my face lol. This one looks really great on you, though!

    • Oh, I don’t have that shade so I can’t really tell you! I sadly have a face that can’t take too loud colors either.

  2. I have this too (and have reviewed some time ago)..it is really bright! I like to pair it with MAC Bare Study paint pot on the eyes, and I find that I always almost blot it to tone down the drama, its more wearable to me that way I think. 🙂

  3. Not bad! The bright pop of pink/red on a neutral face is really eye catching. I think it looks good on you.

  4. It’s a nice change!! I too have trouble wearing fuchsia pink lipsticks. Someone always says… Masyado atang pink ang lipstick mo. Whatevs, I be rocking it.

  5. It looks fantastic against your skin! It’s not too pink, I agree with you that pink lipsticks can sometimes be a little too much :\
