Sample Stash Sunday: too cool for school After School BB Foundation Lunchbox*

I got a sample of the too cool for school After School BB Foundation Lunchbox in 1 Matte in the July BDJ Box, and that’s awesome because I’ve been wanting to try it since I began exploring the brand.

This skin match is just asking for trouble! Look how white it is against my skin tone. Still, I wanted to see if I could use it. Since I wanted to see just how drastic the difference in, here I am without makeup, aside from this on one side of my face:

Surprise! It’s not so bad. 🙂 In fact, I think it blends in quite nicely with my skin and evens out my skin tone. My eyebags are hopeless, so I’m not even going to go there.

Here I am with all of it blended out + the rest of my makeup:

This was the look for my last Made-Up History post. I think this is a bit too pale for me, but it’s honestly nothing that a bit of bronzer can’t fix. I’ve got nothing much to say about coverage. It’s decent but it won’t cover up bumpy acne. I know this because it did nothing much for my head pim-pale.

It dries down but doesn’t really set, so I feel like it will rub off on porous surfaces that my face may touch. The finish is semi-matte, by which I mean that I can see a bit of sheen poking through, still. I would set this with a powder if I was on my way out on a hot day, that’s for sure.

Overall, I’m pretty happy with it, but I am not sure if I will repurchase this once my sample runs out.

  1. It looks good on you! Was so curious about this BB, especially since the full size comes with a concealer and a highlighter. But the packaging is a big turn off, dip your spatula type.

  2. I got the before school and used it once already. It isn’t bad at all for me. I always have oily t-zone, whatever foundation/bb cream I use, and I don’t like it when it looks patchy or cakey around my nose. The before school did not become patchy or cakey around my nose! I just bought the after school one last week and I am excited to try it too. 🙂

  3. I agree with you. While I like this product and did not have problems with it, I don’t think I’d buy it either once mine runs out. Mostly because I’m already using the perfect BB cream for my skin.

  4. I think I got the other shade (no. 2?) because the picture on the tube is different. I’m sad to say that this bb cream breaks me out. 😦

  5. I’m using this as my daily BB cream right now. I still need to set this with powder and in my case, that helps tone down the white cast (which I think comes from the SPF37). I can’t fully commit to the full sized one even though this works well for me. Haha I just keep on buying the sample sized one.

    • It’s weird no? I feel like its really good, but it’s still not the best. Does that make sense?
