In line with trying to curb my appetite for shiny new things, I’ve decided to jump on the bandwagon and “shop my stash.” Each week (or so), I’ll pick out a few items in my collection that I want to revisit and use. Here’s what I picked out for my first week:
EYESHADOW
— shu uemura eyeshadow in ME medium brown 885: it’s a forever staple and perhaps my favorite single neutral eyeshadow ever.
— shu uemura x Karl Lagerfeld Prestigious Bordeaux Palette: great neutrals and punches of color and textures.
— Make Up Store Microshadow in Monty: pretty taupe that I should use more often.
OTHER EYE STUFF
— Rimmel Scandaleyes Eyeliners in Taupe, Black and Nude: new things that I want to test out. Watch out for a Manila-weather-based review!
— Benefit Lemon Aid: eye base I’m trying to use up; part of my Project 10 Pan
— Majolica Majorca Lash King Mascara: mascara I’m trying to use up!
BLUSH
— The Body Shop x Lily Cole Lip & Cheek Dome in Crazy for Coral: long-lost item in my makeup collection that I thought would be nice to pull out and use
— Smashbox Image Factory Air Blush Whipped Cheek Color in Dusty Rose: nice, natural rosy blush that I am trying to use up; part of my Project 10 Pan
LIPS
— Maybelline ColorSensational Lipstick in Chestnut: lipstick I’m trying to use up
— Revlon ColorBurst Lipgloss in Bordeaux: lipsgloss I’m trying to use up
Both are part of my Project 10 Pan.
And that’s it! Keep in mind that I can still use other products to sort of supplement these items I picked up. These are like the centerpieces or priority items, I suppose. 🙂
A look I made using the aforementioned products!
I lined my lower lashline with the Rimmel nude liner and I don’t think I like myself with bigger eyes! They look droopy. Cheek color is the Smashbox Whipped Blush in Dusty Rose, and lipstick is Maybelline Chestnut, dabbed lightly.
For the eye makeup, I primarily used Prestigious Bordeaux, then the nude liner, and a slick of mascara on the upper and bottom lashes. For kicks, here is my original review of the palette and a look post using it. I shudder! I think I got better! Hehe.
This is the lovely box that I’m putting all my weekly rotations in. 🙂 Isn’t it pretty?
And I think that’s it! I think it’s probably an odd thing to do, but I decided to “shop my stash,” because I’ve been really intensely wanting to purchase new makeup. This is just a way to a) curb that appetite for shiny new things, and b) really evaluate what I already have. I think it’s a good idea, whoever thought of it! I can’t wait to pick out what I want to focus on next week.
Do you shop your stash? Why or why not?
I’ve been reading this blog almost daily na, and seriously that Maybelline chestnut lipstick hindi padin namamatay??? lols. Project Pan’s a great idea, nice to know enthusiasts could actually use up everything they purchase… (on going pa lang pala. hehe) So Goodluck!! BTW, i’m lovin the eye makeup look 😉
Lol I haven’t been using it eh! I know I included it in the project pan but it’s not like I REALLY reached for it, you know? Now I will 😀
Hey Carina, yay for shopping the stash! You have some great pieces there! You wear that sparkling pink shade so well!
Aw, thank you so much Sunny! Also, I had to say that it was such a delight to see you on Karen’s blog. 🙂
This is a great idea, Carina. I should try this! 🙂 Wow at the Shu Uemura eye palette – beautiful shades! And i love the look you created with these – simple but striking!
Nice no? I can’t believe I don’t use it, lol. Thank you! Can’t wait to see your stash if ever you do it too.
I agree with, Shari. This is a good idea. I have some e.l.f. mineral shadows that I really need to start using. This will be my inspiration to start using them up.
Hope your experience will be great!
Great idea! I like to “shop my stash” for colors I didn’t think I would ever use but now can 🙂
Yay! Can’t wait to see what you end up “shopping’ 🙂
Looking forward to the Rimmel pencils review, I’ve been dying to get the Nude one, but I cant order it without ordering a load of other stuff (sayang sa shipping fee) and I’m thinking if it’s the same banana as a concealer pencil. What do you think!
Try ASOS.com! Free shipping, no minimum purchase required!
Alright, thanks! Hey I still have to get the Physicians compact from West, so sorry!
No worries! 🙂 I’ll text you when I leave it there. No rush talaga haha
Thanks! I’ll be sure to be there for the opening on Thursday! ☺
