Travel Makeup - Swatches

Hello! For this week’s Nosy Beauty, it’s kind of a cheat… because it’s of my travel makeup bag! I’m going on a trip for about a week and a half, and I thought I’d share what I’m bringing along. Actually, at the time of this going live, I’ll be in Bali already, so hi! I might be wearing these products already. 😀

Just to give a brief background of the trip itinerary and what I’ll be using these for, I’m going to Bali with my family, then flying off to Singapore (by myself, ack!) to go to a music festival on the 2nd. I’m pretty excited since I’ve never been to Bali before! Anyway, enough of that.

First of all, my bag is a Gift With Purchase from NARS, when I went to buy stuff before I went on my ban. Because I’m a sneak. It’s a decent size and pretty roomy, though I tried to really cut down on my makeup plans. I usually find that I don’t have time to play with makeup while I’m on a vacation.

Travel Bag - Face

For face products, I have my trusty NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer sample, which I always bring with me on trips. Pretty handy! Then, I have the only brush I’m bringing: the Hakuhodo H601 Powder Brush, and the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder. Thinking of bringing Mood Light, instead of Ethereal Light (pictured), because I’m expecting to tan.

Travel Bag - Eye Stuff

For non-eyeshadow eye bits, I have a K-Palette Eyebrow Pen, a K-Palette Liquid Eyeliner, and an Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Crave, which I’m thinking of leaving because I don’t want to bring a sharpener. I also have a small sample of Le Métier de Beauté’s Anamorphic Lash Mascara because it never bleeds or smudges or flakes, and of course an eyelash curler. This one is by shu uemura.

Travel Bag - Eyeshadows

For eyeshadow, I decided to leave palettes and bring two singles: shu uemura eyeshadow in ME medium brown 885 and Art Deco 82, a blue. I also have a BECCA Eye Tint in Baroque, which is just super sheer, and a travel-sized NARS Pro-Prime Smudgeproof Eyeshadow Base, which is not my favorite, but it’s very small.

I might leave 2 or 3 of these things behind. The shu single is a sure bring-along item.

Travel Bag - Cheek Stuff

For cheeks, I just have a BECCA Beach Tint in Raspberry. I wanted to bring either Grapefruit or Guava, but I’m pretty sure they won’t show up if/when I tan. I also have this small sample of Benefit Watt’s Up!

Travel Bag - Lip Stuff

For lips, I have three options: NARS Pure Matte Lipstick in Montego Bay, Lavshuca Dramatic Memory Rouge in RS-1, and KATE HD lipstick in PK-17. I also have a Korres Lip Butter in Jasmine. They’re all easy formulas and colors to wear, but they all vary, too. If I were to leave something, it might be either Montego Bay or PK-17, since they are both lighter colors.

Travel Bag - Maybe - UD Spray

This is a super maybe item, but I’m considering bringing along the Urban Decay All-Nighter Setting Spray. We shall see. Melty makeup is the worst!

And that’s it! I think that’s quite a lot, still. I’ll see if I can pare it down some more. I have an idea of which things to leave behind. Here is a photo of the keychain on my bag, just because it’s so darn cute:

Travel Bag - Chocolate Frog

A Chocolate Frog! 🙂

Anyway, I’ll see you all soon. I have a bunch of posts queued up for you, so you won’t even feel that I’m gone. 🙂 See you soon!

If you want trip updates, I’ll likely post them on my Instagram (@presidents), which is usually linked up to my Twitter (also @presidents). 🙂

Thanks for your beginner tips!!! I’m still trying to put a makeup kit together, but I had no idea what I needed. I tried enrolling in HD Makeup School (hdmakeupacademy.com) but it was the WORST experience ever. I think I’ll stick to blog tips for now ‘coz we’ve already lost, like, P7200 from them :/ Looking around your blog for more beginner tips! 🙂
