Le Métier de Beauté Beauty Vault VIP February 2014 Box

LMdB Beauty Vault VIP February - Box

Yay for a super early February box from the Le Métier de Beauté Beauty Vault VIP Subscription. I kind of explain it a little and gave a 6-month recap over here, but for today, I’ll be showing you what I got for the February box, aka the Valentines one.

First up, I have a Colour Core Moisture Stain Lipstick in Riviera ($32) which is a very warm, orange-toned red, aka the worst shade you could probably give me. Next, I’ve got two Nail Lacquers in Wango Tango, a punchy coral, and Cocoa Cabana, a creamy café au lait ($18 each). Again, two colors I’m not really interested in.

The lacquer formula is decent, though I wish I had gotten colors that were more up my speed or just ones that went well better. Both are in a nice, creamy formula, though they still don’t trump my favorite lacquer formula, butter London’s. The bottles on these are similar, but the cap/brush of Cocoa Cabana is rather stumpy with the bristles flaring out a tiny bit. They were easy to apply.

I have had them on for a day so far, and no chipping from normal wear yet. I tend to be rough on my nails, and I didn’t put a top coat over these to really test them out. So far, so good.

Now for the lipstick. This is sadly one that I don’t know if I can wear on its own. I have to probably layer this over a balm or a nude color, or wear it under a different color or a gloss.

I actually really like it worn as a stain over Korres Lip Butter in Jasmine:

Here is what it looks like by itself, in all its opaque and carrot-y glory:

All in all, a good box in theory. I just got colors that I’m not sure I will get a lot of wear out of. February’s box totals $68, which is a pretty good deal.

    • Oh, thank you so much! 🙂 I’ll try to gather the courage to wear it out in its full glory~ 😀

Thank you for the nom! I think I’ve done this already a while back, but I shall see if I will do another round since it has been a while since that answer. 🙂

  1. I actually kind of love the lipstick on you. I understand how you would be hesitant to go out in it though; I’m the same with bold lip colors. I also really like wango tango!

  2. I love the nail polishes! (I am a nail polish addict, so there’s that. :P) The red lippy doesn’t look bad on you though, but then I’m a recent convert to bold reds. 😀

    • I think I “don’t like” it because it’s orange-toned and warm, which I don’t usually like on myself!

  3. I LOVE the first face photo of you! I like them both, but I love that one. Hahaha! You have such lovely features! Also, you slimmed down eh? 😉

    • Thank you Bibi! 😀 No I didn’t, maybe it is the trick of the light or maybe you just miss me 😀 hehehe

  4. Jennifer says

I love the punchy coral nail polish. 😀 And I like the lipstick on you! Doesn’t look carroty at all.
