My NYC Beauty Haul + First Impressions

As mentioned in my last post—a modest haul! Kind of. I’ll explain. First, I have not turned my nose up at consumerism, nosiree! I have actually gone loco over books on this trip. Yup, so smart. Here’s what I picked up from New York when we stayed there for about five days… Behold!

A few things I picked up from Duane Reade, just because we were there buying ~necessities~:
Yes to Cucumbers Facial Wipes, Jordana Best Lash Extreme Volume Mascara, Physicians Formula Organic Wear Mascara (pink tube).

I must admit that these are all fueled by beauty blog/vlog marathons… I like the Yes To Wipes. Nothing I’ve tried are as soft as these wipes, but I’m not a wipes person in the first place, so I’m not sure I will repurchase. These are great, though! I like both mascaras but only in cold weather. Otherwise, they smudge like hale. Womp, womp, womp…

Next, I made some purchases at the beautiful Aesop store over at SoHo.

I got the London Travel Set (which has 8 new thangs I can try) and the Rosehip Seed Lip Cream. I’ve tried three things from the set and the lip cream so far, and I’ve enjoyed them all so far.

I forgot to include, but I also bought a couple of things from Space.NK—the Bumble & Bumble Surf Spray and the Indie Lee Squalene Oil, which is derived from olives and is so amazing!

Next stop, Barneys for a little trip to MAKE. I got only 3 things because I was with my mom and I didn’t want her to see how crazy I am with makeup, lol:
I’ve got the Soft Focus Foundation in Cool #4, the New Medieval Palette, and a Matte Lipstick in Jakarta! I’ve only tried the foundation (my skin has been insufferably dry here…) and the matte lipstick and I quite like both a lot.

It’s so weird that I can actually swatch things in person!

Lastly (so far), I’ve got a few things from BITE during a quick stop to Sephora.

Like what usually happens with me and lipsticks… I never find a lip color I want (anymore) when I attempt to try a new range. I came in wanting to get the BITE Agave Lip Mask (so good!) and ended up getting one of the small dual-ended BITE lipsticks by the counter. I got the shades Lychee and Musk, which are a bit light, but easy to use up.

And that’s it! I don’t foresee a lot of shopping in my near future. Especially after I bought a FitBit (lol) and a gorgeous dress from Rag & Bone at about 60% off, which came out to… still quite a lot, but I really love it. So there.

I hope this wasn’t too boring! I don’t even know what else to check out here. Often, when faced with too many options, I tend to not even bother. Even though this post probably feels otherwise. Until next time!
