What’s in my Wild Peach Palette?

Sorry to possibly mislead you into thinking this was going to be exciting. I am in a sort of need to depot shadows right now, though, but a) I don’t have a spare palette, and b) I don’t really have all that much single eyeshadows to put into palettes. It’s just therapeutic, man. Must be the fumes. For the uninitiated, a Wild Peach Palette functions basically the same way as a Z-Palette. You can “depot” eyeshadows (that come in a metal pan), and stick them on there. This is good for customizing colors, or saving space when you have a ton of single eyeshadows. I don’t have a lot of singles, so I only got the personal palette, which are smaller and cost Php 285 or under $7. Anyway! Here’s what fit into it: Fanny Serrano singles: Beach Sand, Honey Glitter, Potter Clay, Mulberry Wine MAC singles: Amber Lights, Trax e.l.f. Brightening Eye Color: Ivy Wet n Wild Color Icon Trio: Walking on Eggshells I’ll quickly swatch them for you, so you have an idea …

Favorite Things: Cream Eyeshadow Inventory

It all started with a MAC Paint Pot. I read about the paint pot in Rubenesque, got it for myself, and then it all went downhill from there. I actually don’t regret my “descent” into cream shadow oblivion, and I don’t think I have enough to warrant any worry over a “problem.” Apart from two cream eyeshadow duos from e.l.f., these are my only cream eyeshadows. I think that’s a decent amount, considering my lack of self-control. I’ll talk about them as a whole, and then I’ll try to talk about them one by one. The reason why I love cream shadows is because they are sort of multi-purpose. They act as an eyeshadow base or wash, and some better formulated ones can act as your primer already. There is a complexity that they add to an eye look, I think, and they’re so darned easy to use. First up is my stash of Maybelline 24H Color Tattoo. So far, I have Tough as Taupe, Bad to the Bronze, and Audacious Asphalt. These are beautiful …

Scents & Sensibility

AKA, I suck at titles, but this is what I picked and I’m sticking to it. Anyway, this is a post on my small “collection” of scents. I don’t really collect scents. I just kind of find one that I really like then stick to that for a long time. I think it’s because I don’t really look for anything new very often. Moschino’s Cheap & Chic I Love Love This is my first “signature scent,” which is just another way of saying that this was the only sort of cologne or perfume I owned at the time. I love this smell, but that is just a fortunate stroke of luck, as I really, truly bought this for the packaging. I saw the packaging in a magazine ad and my parents bought it for me when we were on vacation in New York. That was when I knew that ads worked on gullible people like myself. Also, I was in high school, so give me a break. I Love Love has very fresh and citrus-y …

Unboxing Video: Glamourbox March 2013

So, I managed to get a Glamourbox subscription for March 2013. It’s one of those things that gets sold out so quickly that you need to get on board for the next time they roll out products. And it’s weird, because you don’t even know what you’re going to get, since subscription boxes—at least the meh ones—tend to be inconsistent. Anyway, that’s how marketing works, I guess. Included in this month’s box are, roughly, the ff. items: Eye of Horus Eyeliner, which I liked a lot Pevonia sample Heynature BB Cream sachets (4) Heynature Brightening Gel sachet (1) YSL Saharienne perfume sample Ralph Lauren Big Pony 3 perfume sample Avon Skin So Soft Hand and Body Lotion, mini bottle (2) In case you didn’t know, Glamourbox costs Php 595 a month. Theoretically, this is a great deal because you get a box sort of tailored for you, as the kind of person who signs up for surprise boxes. Some of the items are full-sized and cost much more than the subscription fee, but it’s often …

Quickie: Be Betty Bright This Spring

I somehow got my hands on a tube of the Betty Bright lipstick from the MAC x Archie’s Girls collection, and I am over the moon. It’s described as a light vibrant peach, but it looks very coral, with a strong pink tone, to me. Betty Bright is a satin finish, which I’ve never had. All my MAC lipsticks—only two so far—are Lustres. The texture is pretty good, the coverage is fairly opaque even with just one swipe. It’s exactly like Betty Cooper’s pretty pink pout. Doesn’t it look exactly like the lipstick she is wearing on the MEGA cover? If you’re not feeling this bright of a pink for Spring (or in our case, Summer), here are a few suggestions I have: L-R: shu uemura x Karl Lagerfeld (Celebrity Beige), MAC Archie’s Girls (Betty Bright), Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet (La Favorite), Guerlain Rouge G L’Extrait (Gourmandise) I think I want to try out a bright eye and nude lip combo next time. Just to stray away from the neutrals and be adventurous. 😀 One …
