I’ve been taking a break from many things recently, and it seems that includes fun lip colors. I’m trying to get back in the mood for my corals, purples, what have you, but I figured I’d show you what I’ve usually been reaching for lately (save for the vamps, which I occasionally reach for but never as a fail-safe option). I know they all look like the same damn thing, and as a dutiful beauty nut, I’m taking it upon myself to tell you that they’re different! Ahem. NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Bahama — I love this shade! Except I realized recently that it has a bunch of v. fine shimmer that gets more and more obvious the more you load it on. So, um. Don’t. Anyway, I love this; it’s a bit of a 90s lip, IMO. NARS Pure Matte Lipstick in Tonkin — I know this as Bea’s favorite NPML (or ever?) shade. So, I got attached to yellow eyeshadow as a concept, I guess. I made this face and I took this when Arabelle Sicardi mentioned ‘yellow eyeshadow’ and POCs, and yeah. This happened. Nothing special: literally just yellow eyeshadow all over my mobile lid + the warmer brown all over my lower lash line, fading into the darker one on the outer 1/3. I’ve been very low maintenance with makeup, which is great but also kind of oops because I have a shit ton of products I don’t use so much anymore but can’t get myself to get rid of. What to do! Short post dedicated to the stuff I was using last month that gave me a lot of happies. 🙂 I’m still pretty over the moon with them a week+ into July. Skin Care — Antipodes Worship Superfruit Antioxidant Serum* This stuff’s amazing, I’ve been using it a lot with different types of moisturizers and facial oils. It’s a little boost of antioxidants and my skin’s been loving it. — Antipodes Vanilla Pod Hydrating Day Cream* This is a light moisturizer that plays well with humidity and smells so, so good and fresh. It’s got Manuka honey and the same antioxidant concoction as the Worship serum. I don’t use this everyday, but it’s always a pleasant experience when I do. Makeup — Kevyn Aucoin Sculpting Powder (Medium) I love this! I use this all the time, I don’t even use blush anymore. It’s a good contour powder and I mostly exclusively use this, putting aside even my Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Radiant Light because I can’t with the shimmer this summer. FOTD: Cool Cut Crease + a Strong Cheek

An FOTD that’s not my typical boring face. I keep trying to use this Maybelline concealer but it’s really shit. Not sure why people like it so much. I feel so ashy-faced, but I’m not sure if it’s because of the color match or the texture. Leaning towards the texture, which just makes me feel cakey for some reason. It’s really weird. I have a pretty full bottle here (shade Medium) if anyone wants it. I got rid of the sponge but it’s pretty intact otherwise.

Hiya! I just washed off a strip of this stuff off my nose + a bit of my cheek area. It’s the Tony Moly Egg Pore Tightening Cooling Pack*, which is a most welcome source of relief from the heat and sweaty summer. Product Description The enhanced ice corset pore pack tightens open and loose pores seamlessly with a cooling effect that covers the pore. I’ve always been skeptical of pore packs (pores don’t “open” or “close”) but there are certain masks and products that reduce the appearance of enlarged pores, and this is one such product. It’s water-based and has kaolin clay as the second ingredient. Kaolin clay, even by itself, is widely used as a face mask since it absorbs oil. White Kaolin also has an astringent effect, removing impurities from the skin.

Long time, no see. I don’t know if you remember me (haha), but hi! I haven’t been around because… I haven’t been buying new stuff and I guess I went through (am going through?) a few crises at the moment that don’t leave me much time for beauty pursuits. I’m making an effort again, though. Because it turns out that I actually really like doing this. So, hi! Again. So, I guess I wanted to say that yes, I’ve been wearing makeup still though not as much as I used to, and no, I haven’t been taking care of my skin as well as I ought to, maybe. I’m working on it, though, do not judge. I’ve been wearing a few staples lately, though, namely the Urban Decay Naked 3 and the shu uemura ME medium brown 885 mainly, for eyeshadow. I’ve also been going to town with winged liner. I like it! For this look, I wore my OCC Cosmetic Colour Pencil in Lydia, but I took this after I got home from dinner …
