One Week NARSissist: 5 Looks

Reviving my “One Week Series,” which I have done only twice before, using the Urban Decay Naked and Urban Decay Naked 2 palettes. In case it isn’t obvious yet, I will use an eyeshadow palette for five days, and the looks that I come up with will be cataloged here. I used to post them on five different days, but I thought that for this round, I’ll just post the looks all in one spot. I’ve picked out the NARS NARSissist Eyeshadow Palette, which I’ve reviewed here. While I love it, part of me is also ambivalent towards it. Using it for five consecutive looks will allow me to form a more educated opinion about it, I guess. Shari has reviewed it a week ago and was not impressed. I think this is a perfect palette for the series, though, as majority of the shades in this palette are part of NARS’ permanent offerings. If you miss out on the palette or don’t like the reviews but you see a look you’d like to recreate, …

FOTD: Notoriously Morbid in the Springtime

Just a quick Spring look for all y’alls using some Notoriously Morbid eyeshadows that I am in the middle of testing out and reviewing. Notoriously Morbid is an indie cosmetics company that I wanted to try out way back when. I placed an order in February and got my parcel in late March, which is pretty standard for international shipping. Anyway. Here’s what’s going on with my mug. My base is just comprised of the Le Métier de Beauté Peau Vierge Correcteur in Medium, the Le Métier de Beauté Eye Brightening and Setting Powder in Refresh, and the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Poweder in Dim Light. It’s so freaking hot, I don’t even want to bother with face products, other than my SPF. If you’re curious about my favorite Spring/Summer Face base, click here. For cheeks, I have my Tom Ford Cheek Color in Wicked, which I am beginning to appreciate just recently. It’s a very beautiful sheeny pink. It’s almost like a super pigmented highlight. It’s gorgeous. My lips are just coated with a Chanel …

BNT Girls Collaboration: SNSD Mr Mr Makeup (Seohyun)

Before my batch of BNT Girls (possibly) disbands, we thought we’d cook up a makeup collaboration featuring looks from SNSD/Girls Generation’s new video for the song, Mr Mr! You can watch the video here: We each picked a girl who wore a makeup look we wanted to recreate! I’m not sure what time the other girls are planning to post their looks, so I’ll just add the links as they come. 🙂 Anyway, I did this look back when I still had long hair! I was picking between Yuri and Seohyun, but Seohyun had the look I wanted to recreate the most: (It took me a while to remember their names, haha. I’m not a big fan of K-Pop, but that’s only because I don’t know where to start. But that’s another story.) I never would have thought to pair purple eye makeup with a red lip; that just seems to cross over to super bold territory for me. Still, I persevered.

FOTD: I Wore Carrots Out

& I got a haircut. Ooooh! Aaaah! I don’t know how I feel about it yet, but I mostly like it? Gotta figure out how to wear it, though. The top knot, I realize now, is the ultimate lazy girl hairstyle, and I’ve relinquished my lazy shortcuts by cutting. my. hair. AHHH. Ahem. So the lipstick. I actually wore an orange-y lipstick out. I can’t explain it; I got the urge to do it, so I did! And guess what? It wasn’t the end of the world. Imagine that. Phew. (It is Le Métier de Beauté’s Colour Core Moisture Stain Lipstick in Riviera.) I have this weird “aversion” to oranges. Even warm reds scare the bejesus out of me. The rest of my face is just a serum, a loose foundation, bronzer, eyebrows, a cream shadow, and liner. What can I say? I was rushing out of the house. I guess that made me just bite the bullet and go for the orange. I think I mostly like it, too? What’s one lipstick color you …

FOTD: Neutral Natural with NARS Charade

Look! An FOTD from a few days ago. 🙂 It’s just a pretty neutral look since I wanted to use a hot pink blush. I basically just used the NARS Eyeshadow Duo in Charade—the rosy shade all over the lid and the purple to deepen the outer corner and smoke out the lower lid a little bit. I used a bit of the rosy shade as a gradient, too. I used a liquid liner and mascara, and that’s mostly it for the eyes. For the lips, another NARS product, the Satin Lip Pencil in Decanso, which is limited edition and gorgeous. I kind of want to buy a backup, but I don’t want to be that kind of person anymore. I chiseled out my cheekbones a little with the Illamasqua Cream Foundation, then added a pretty blended out application of Tarte’s Flush on my cheeks. I tend to apply blush higher up on and towards the edges of my face and not on the apples because my cheeks are quite full. Here are some of …

One Day Naked 2: Day 3

Day 3 of the Naked 2 Challenge, and unlike my week with the original Naked, I don’t feel like I’m stifled by this palette as much. Even though today’s look is super simple (I didn’t even curl my lashes or line my eyes), I really like it! I just have Verve in the inner half of my mobile lid, fading into Busted on the outer half, with the outer corner very slightly deepened by Blackout. For the lower lash line, I have Half Baked smudged all the way through with a bit of Chopper on top of Half Baked on the outer half of the lower lash line. I attempted to line my waterline with Blackout. I wish I took better pictures but I had an avalanche of work-related mishaps, so I couldn’t really take more time to preen in front of a camera, lol. One Week Naked 2: Day 2

Hey all! Just a quick post right now. I’m actually about to get to work but I’m doing this challenge/series with Natalie and we both agreed to get our posts out at 12 noon everyday… so here I am, trying hard to do that. As you can see, my hair is still wet. For today, I just wanted something simple and warm-ish, so I used Suspect all over the lid, blended out with Tease at the crease. For outer corner depth, I added a bit of Snakebite, which I brought down to the outer half of my lower lash line as well. You guys seem to like it when I line my eyes, so I used a little bit of Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Twice Baked on my upper lash line and lower waterline (outer half). I curled my lashes and was done. 😀 Super easy, super simple, and maybe a little boring. I’ve got to say I’m pretty happy “rediscovering” how great a lid wash Suspect is. 🙂 Face: AHAVA Essential …
