Le Métier de Beauté Kaleidoscope Lip Kit in Gemini’s Kiss & a Beauty Vault VIP Recap

For the last and final month of the Le Métier de Beauté Beauty Vault VIP Subscription, subscribers got a Kaleidoscope Lip Kit in Gemini’s Kiss, which features 8 lip colors (4 lipsticks & 4 crèmes or glosses) in split pans. I don’t have the individual names but I’ll email LMdB to ask then append this post if they are individually named! I wasn’t supposed to post this until much later. I just got this yesterday and haven’t been able to play with it much yet, but I wanted to get this post up because LMdB is closing their subs soon… and I wanted to show you what they’ve sent, so far, in case any of you are interested in subscribing to them. Here’s the last shipment for the first round, which went on from August 2013 to July 2014. Unboxing: Le Métier de Beauté Beauty Vault VIP for June 2014

The June 2014 Box, aka the penultimate box, of the Le Métier de Beauté Beauty Vault VIP came with one product and no note. The product in question is called the Daily Refresh Tonic, which retails for $50. First of all, this box is huge, and contains 4oz. of product. Here it is in comparison with another skin care item we received earlier in the sub period, the Peau Vierge Dark Spot Correcteur, which contains a mere 0.5oz of product—my main reason for not repurchasing it. It’s a great product, but I don’t have $125 to spend on 0.5oz of product. Anyway, here is the size difference: (The Peau Vierge bottle is so grotty; I apologize!) See? Huge. Product Description: “Freshen up: this skin-invigorating tonic is an essential step in any skincare regimen prepares the skin to better receive topical restorative treatments by stimulating circulation, restoring balance to the complexion, as well as conditioning and hydrating. It also re-energizes the skin, creating a freshly-flushed appearance. How it Works: Daily Refresh Tonic, featuring the Rebalancing Complexe, …

Le Métier de Beauté Beauty Vault VIP May 2014

Just a quick post on the May 2014 Box from the Le Métier de Beauté Beauty Vault VIP. If you’ve been here long enough, this may be a familiar installment for you, since subscribers are on their 10th month of the service. The Beauty Vault VIP offering was a year-long subscription service by New York-based luxury cosmetics brand, Le Métier de Beauté. You signed up and paid up front, so it was a bit steep. The amount paid including shipping and handling was evened out by the 3rd or 4th month, though. For the May box, subscribers received two True Colour Eye Shadows, which are some of my favorite eyeshadow formulas. It seems like everyone received the same shades: Peachy Keen and Goldstone. Peachy Keen is very close to my skin tone, just a hair peachier and warmer. Goldstone is a very warm, medium gold. These swatches are made with one swipe, over bare skin. The eyeshadows come in a small round compact in a rubbery black plastic material, each with its own mirror (the …

Le Métier de Beauté Peau Vierge Correcteur Concealer

Ahhh, another Le Métier de Beauté product again this week. Don’t mind if I do! I received the Peau Vierge Correcteur Concealer in Medium ($95) in my Beauty Vault VIP March box. It’s something I’ve been eyeing for a while now, but never really followed through with, because it’s so damn expensive. Product Description: “This luxuriously creamy concealer has the power to naturally cover flaws as it corrects them. The formula is designed to work like skincare—it encourages collagen production, diminishes the appearance of dark circles, softens lines, blurs blemishes and tightens the look of pores within a week of daily use. Light-diffusing coverage creates a smooth, luminous, undetectable finish. Broad-spectrum SPF 16 protects the skin from damaging UVA/UVB rays.” It only comes in two shades, Fraise/Cool and Medium. Much to the chagrin of my fellow BVV subscribers whose skin colors don’t fit in that spectrum. I think it’s kind of weird that LMdB has been sending complexion products (the Face Kaleidoscope, this concealer and the powder in April), when they have specifically stated they …

Unboxing: Le Métier de Beauté Beauty Vault VIP April 2014

The April Box for the Le Métier de Beauté Beauty Vault contained only one product—one of their newest releases, the Peau Vierge Anti-Aging Pressed Powder. I think they sent out Shade 2 for everyone. This retails for $75, while the monthly box costs about $29. “Let’s smooth things over. Introducing a technological breakthrough in anti-aging face products, this luxuriously soft, natural-looking treatment powder seamlessly covers visible imperfections while working below the surface to enhance and improve the skin long term. Key ingredients Vital ET™, a powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory, and Sodium Hyaluronate, a major contributor to greater skin hydration, penetrate deeper and result in more pronounced skin improvement due to our proprietary delivery system, TPM®. A weightless powder so silky smooth it feels almost like a cream at first touch, this formula is easily blendable and will not settle into fine lines or wrinkles. Available in 3 universally flattering shades. Ideal for all skin types; paraben free. How to Use: Apply with a brush for sheer coverage, or with a sponge for heavier application. Key …

Unboxing: Le Métier de Beauté Beauty Vault VIP March 2014

Hey everyone, just a quick post for today. 🙂 Before I left for Japan, I had gotten the March box from my Le Métier de Beauté Beauty Vault VIP Subscription. For those not in the know, it’s basically a monthly subscription box from Le Métier de Beauté. The box’s set-up is an upfront payment for all 12 months. Each box costs roughly around $30, and this is the seventh box so far. If you’re curious about the subscription, here are my posts on it. Sign-ups open back up after this round is done. Boxes often come in this manner, with crinkly shredded black paper as the padding, a handwritten note, and a beautiful box tied with a black LMdB ribbon. We received two items this month, the Le Métier de Beauté Ultra Hydration Eye Mask Duo and the Le Métier de Beauté Peau Vierge Correcteur Concealer, which is a product I’ve been longing to try but can’t seem to bring myself to because of the price tag. The Ultra Hydration Eye Mask Duo retails for …

Le Métier de Beauté Beauty Vault VIP February 2014 Box

Yay for a super early February box from the Le Métier de Beauté Beauty Vault VIP Subscription. I kind of explain it a little and gave a 6-month recap over here, but for today, I’ll be showing you what I got for the February box, aka the Valentines one. First up, I have a Colour Core Moisture Stain Lipstick in Riviera ($32) which is a very warm, orange-toned red, aka the worst shade you could probably give me. Next, I’ve got two Nail Lacquers in Wango Tango, a punchy coral, and Cocoa Cabana, a creamy café au lait ($18 each). Again, two colors I’m not really interested in. Swatched, L-R: CCMS Lipstick in Riviera, Nail Lacquers in Wango Tango and Cocoa Cabana The lacquer formula is decent, though I wish I had gotten colors that were more up my speed or just ones that went well better. Both are in a nice, creamy formula, though they still don’t trump my favorite lacquer formula, butter London’s. The bottles on these are similar, but the cap/brush of …
