Le Métier de Beauté Beauty Vault VIP January Box & 6 Month Recap

I have slacked off on Le Métier de Beauté's Beauty Vault VIP posts, having stopped at the January one. Truthfully, I waited a long time before finally picking this up at the mail forwarder. I look for spoilers and when I saw what was in the January box, all desire to retrieve it left me. LOL, a tad bit dramatic, but after such a great run of products, who wouldn't find a single bottle of makeup remover disappointing? January Box The January box came with no information card at all, so it pretty much heightened the feeling of “Is this it?” However, I have to say that I am a fan of bi-phase makeup removers. My favorite is Laneige, but this is really excellent. There was a bit of a kerfuffle with this box, too. A user on the forum I go to (Makeup Talk) found an identical product sans the brand name on Amazon, selling for $29.99 and was on sale for $19.90. This is the response that user LisaLeah got from the LMdB …

January 2014 Favorites

I haven't done these in a while, basically because I don't know if people like them (do you?) but I just wanted to share some of my favorite things during the past month and talk a bit about them and why I liked them so much. I just have a few bits here. NARS Sheer Glow Foundation in Punjab — I should not even have bought this but I had to know what the big deal was. It turns out, the Internet knows its shit; this was a great purchase. Quite a bit of a splurge, but one that was worth it. Happy Skin Shut Up & Kiss Me Moisturizing Lippie in Crushing on You — Pretty much the perfect MLBB in the easiest, fuss-free twistie crayon form. butter London Nail Lacquer in Bossy Boots — Weird that I have a nail color in here, but despite the fact that I only have three other bottles of nail polish, I never tired of this beautiful pale green cream. Mascara in general — I've been trying …

My NARS Final Cut Collection Picks

I posted about my NARS Spring lemmings a few weeks ago, and I ended up buying two things from the “Final Cut Collection,” or which we have come to know as the pink collection. NARS came out with 4 pink-toned blushes with matching 4 satin lip pencils, as well as a pinky highlighter.

Stylenanda 3CE Gel Eyeliner in #L.O.V.E.*

I saved the best for last! Which is weird because I never thought I’d be so smitten with a red gel eyeliner, but here we are. Anyway, the product in question is the 3CE Gel Eyeliner in #L.O.V.E.. 3CE or 3 Concept Eyes is the makeup arm of Korean fashion brand, Stylenanda. I’ve had the pleasure of trying out 4 items from this awesome, mid-range brand so far, and I’m in love with all of them! This gel liner is super creamy and is pretty much a dream to work with since the color glides on so smoothly on your lids and is so opaque in just one swipe. The pot of product, which is housed in frosted glass, comes with a super nifty liner brush (flat and somewhat tapered) which is what I used to apply it. You can use it to apply broad strokes or thinner ones, depending on which side you use. As you can see from these swatches, the product is ultra creamy and is super pigmented. All of these swatches …

Doctorcos Amino Acid Hybrid Sheet Free Mask Advanced*

This is one of the skin are items from the BNT Girls box: the Doctorcos Amino Acid Hybrid Sheet Free Mask Advanced. I'm not so sure what kind of mask it is. Here's what the description on the tune says: “Doctorcos has revolutionized the Sheet Free Mask through its advanced moist veil network technology to provide seven amazing benefits in just one application. This new beauty technology allows a three layer effect to ensure the skin is provided with nutrients, skin pore tightening effects, increased elasticity, intensive moisturizing and incredible hydration capabilities to give skin a soft youthful, dewy glow. No need for external serums, this all-in-one product does it all.” It's a pretty weird product. It's kind of a gel-type cream that's super moist. I can't explain it, but it's really light and watery. When you rub it into your skin, it turns into droplets: Then it sinks into the skin nicely: I still wasn't sure I know what kind of mask it, so I did a bit of research. I found this page …

Nosy Beauty Vol. 27: Saab

Hello, I remembered to post on time this week. Congratulate me! For this week’s Nosy Beauty, I’ve asked Saab to share some of her makeup-y bits. I’m pretty sure y’all know who she is, haha. Anyway, this is a little creepy to say (maybe), but I’ve always loved Saab’s face. When I noticed that she’d been posting a lot more beauty-related stuff, I thought I’d ask her to be a part of this series! If you didn’t already know, Saab blogs over at Spell Saab. She is also an actress and sings in two bands, Duster and Cheats. Hope you enjoy! I don’t want to treat makeup like a mask, I like to think of it as more of a highlighter of my better features. Also, I don’t like to completely erase my eyebags. I like my eyebags – I think I look so weird without them.

Verikos Choc Choc Tint in Amanda Pink*

I remember the only makeup my classmates ever bothered with back in high school was a slick of eyeliner and a swipe of a lip and cheek tint. These were super fuss-free makeup essentials then, since you can just put it on in the morning and go about your day, thinking about other things instead. You know, typical high school concerns. Ain’t nobody got time to think of lipstick! (I also went to a Catholic school where we were not allowed to wear makeup. So we went for Kool Aid lips instead.) The Verikos Choc Choc Tint* (which I got in Amanda Pink!) comes in a sleek black tube and minimalist type on the side, for which I am a sucker. It promises lip gloss + lip tint, vivid color, and excellent endurance. With a doe-foot applicator, you can apply it with ease.
