Makeup Removers and Me

One thing you might notice on your journey into eye makeup doom exploration is that straight up facial cleanser won’t do it any more. You might emerge from splashing your face with water, dejected at the many, many, many glitters and smudgy crap left on your eyelids. Waterproof mascara, for example, is the bane of my makeup existence. But, don’t despair! Makeup removers are here to help. LANEIGE EYE AND LIP WATERPROOF REMOVER I don’t have a lot of makeup remover experience because I found my HG eye makeup remover early on. Laneige is a Korean brand that has recently turned cruelty-free. I was able to try a sample that Sarie scored for me, and I bought a full size after I used that up. It took me a while to repurchase this because they used to not be CF. This is a super-gentle and super-effective eye makeup remover. It does wonders on stubborn, stain-y lip colors, too. I use this on my eye and lip makeup, following it up with a facial cleanser, if …

Empties No. 1

Hello everyone! This is my first empties post, and it’s quite sizeable. It’s mostly skin care and bath stuff, though, so if you are looking for makeup empties, feel free to skip on this! — Maybelline The Falsies Mascara: It was time to throw it out as I stretched it to 6 months, like a Josie Gross-y. I really liked this mascara, but I won’t be repurchasing as it’s not cruelty-free. — Etude House Proof 10 Eye Primer: Throwing it out because it has become too tacky for me to work with. I won’t be repurchasing as I prefer other eye primers.

Vlog: Skin Care Routine

Hey everyone! So, here’s the video~ on my “skin care routine” that some people have been asking about. There aren’t too many steps (clean, tone, sometimes moisturize), but I just like using a variety of products, for some reason. My face isn’t so sensitive to cleansers. I just have bad luck with foundations and tinted moisturizers, I think. I’m not one for skin care. I’ve always felt like a bit of soap and water is all you needed. It goes to show you how much I know. (It has recently come to light that my sister was deeply grossed out about my lack of facial hygiene.) Anyway, onto the moving picture that is my face! (My channel was made when I was but a child. Sorry for the atrocious name!) 1. Pond’s Daily Face Wash Standard face-cleaner. I’ve been using the “light green” variety ever since late grade school (that’s Junior High to you Americans) and I just never switched to any other variant. I like it mostly because of the scent. There is a …

November Favorites

I didn’t want to go overboard so I tried to keep it under 10—here are my favorites for this month! ❤ For lip products, I have three favorites this month, all of which offer a good range in terms of price. First up is a lipstick from the shu uemura x Karl Lagerfeld collaboration—a Rouge Unlimited shade called Celebrity Beige. Here it is used as a FOTD. I love that it’s a light coral, almost-nude color with just enough sparkle and shine. The formulation is also incredible, and the staying power is decent, for an ultra-slick lipstick. Read the review here. Next up is from the NARS x Andy Warhol collaboration, a Larger Than Life Lipgloss in Viva! I have yet to review this (though, I’ve taken the pictures already), but it has changed my relationship with glosses. We are very, very good friends now. Last from the lip products is the Revlon Lip Butter in Sugar Plum. Though I was met with a quite ghastly shade in the same purchase, I rather think that …

Sample Stash Sunday: Laneige Multi Cleanser & Lip and Eye Remover

Sample Stash Sunday is a day in which samples will be given center stage. I always have a bunch of samples that I end up using only once or twice, a waste much to the earth’s dismay. This is an attempt to actually use the products, review them, and maybe discover something great. This week, I’ll be talking about the Multi Cleanser and the Lip and Eye Remover by Laneige. Sarie got 4 samples from a Laneige event, and I’ve so far tried 2 of the 4. Laneige is a Korean brand with a French name (“neige” is “snow”). The Laneige Multi Cleanser is “papain enzymes-based multi cleanser with 4 functions of removing makeup, removing sunscreen, exfoliating, and cleansing.” It offers a mild & thorough cleansing and claims to provide clear and bright skin after everyday use. It’s also suited for all skin types. I normally use Shu Uemura’s cleansing oil, but I stopped using it for about four days for this review. The Laneige Multi Cleanser is opaque with a cream-like consistency and exfoliator …
