Stash Shopping No. 3

Hey everyone! Here’s another edition of Stash Shopping, which is when I look over my current collection and commit to use some selected items for an entire week. I’m on my third week, and it’s been fun. I actually asked the last time if you wanted to see some looks I wore using the selected items and received a mostly favorable response, so before I get into this week’s “haulage,” let me share some looks I made the past week, mostly using the bareMinerals READY 8.0 Eyeshadow Palette in The Cocktail Hour (reviewed here): Just a disclaimer, I work as a freelance writer and graphic designer, so I don’t wear makeup everyday. 🙂 For this first look, I used the coral (Spiked), the taupe-y color (Invite Only), and the purple (Swanky), in that order from the inner corner all the way across the lid. I wore this to a meeting and some errands. I used the Revlon Mineral Blush (Roseberry), and the Maybelline Lipstick (Chestnut) that was also in the box, but I topped it …

Smashbox Image Factory Air Blush Whipped Cheek Color in Dusty Rose

This blush by Smashbox is one of the things I bought on a whim but I rarely ever use. Digging it up to review it, I’m reminded of why I impulsively bought it in the first place. For one thing, it is pretty gorgeous. Dusty Rose gives such a natural flush to the cheeks, with such a pretty color coupled with a beautiful texture. If you couldn’t already tell from the name or the picture, this has a pretty mousse-y consistency—a lighter texture than cream blushes. It is blendable and light, though fairly pigmented and is layer-able without much issue. I usually use a stippling brush when I apply it, though it goes on fairly well when used with fingers. Dusty Rose is a warm, rosy color that adds enough warmth and pinkness to the skin. It really looks like you have no blush on. Because it is whipped/a mousse, it dries down to a sort of velvety finish. On the face, it is noticeably natural, too. Does that make sense? I’ll call it that …

Christmas Tag & Post-Christmas Loot

Hello, everyone! I didn’t plan on taking a holiday break, but it seems that I may have needed the break anyway. Here’s a bunch of items I picked up on a post-Christmas trip to Beauty Bar. 🙂 Most of them are things I “need”—if you notice, I don’t have many “color” picks. Clockwise from top left: K-Palette 24H Real Lasting Eyebrow Liner (01), K-Palette 24H Real Lasting Eyeliner (Waterproof, Super Black), Smashbox The Nude Lip Liner (Light), K-Palette 0 Kuma Cover Control Concealer (02 Yellow Beige) since I keep borrowing my sister’s, Bloom Secret Weapon Concealer Kit (Fair/Medium), Smashbox Image Factory Air Blush Whipped Cheek Color (Dusty Rose). For the record, I am in love with 4/6 items. The other two, I haven’t tested yet, so I’m pretty happy with my loot. Here’s a late Christmas tag by Shari of The Misty Mom! What’s your favourite thing about Christmas? Like I said above, my favorite has got to be the reunions, get-togethers, dinners and parties with friends and family members whom I haven’t seen in …
