Okay, so every time I feel stress creeping up on me, I turn to my beauty blog and think of something that I can post. You know, to de-stress and to avail of its strangely therapeutic effects. (Have you tried blogging? It’s very relaxing.)
I thought of doing a step-by-step tutorial, just because I want to practice and also because you guys seem to like that! I noticed that a lot of people shy away from eye makeup, aside from the standard eyeliner and mascara, but you don’t have to be afraid anymore. Really, it’s one of the funnest parts of my routine.
So, here’s an eyelook that I did, using only colors from theBalm’s Nude ‘Tude Palette, the brush it comes along with, as well as the eyeshadow brush from the RealTechniques Travel Essentials Set, which I just love so much.
Because I wanted to play with the palette moreso than I usually did, I ended up using seven shades (I forgot to box Snobby!), most of which weren’t what I had been using before. So that’s why this is a bit shimmery-er. Wow. See if you have any similar shades on hand!
Step One: Prime your lids! I used Benefit Lemon Aid, patting the product from upper lashline to the brow bone.
Step Two: Pat Sexy—a deep matte burgundy—on to the crease, blending it well.
Step Three: Pat on Stand-Offish—a pale glittery pinkish brown—onto the lid.
Step Four: Pat on Sophisticated— a medium brown with bronze shimmer—on the outer v, pulling it a little bit towards the center.
Step Five: Put Sassy—a frosted white—on the brow bone to highlight.
Step Six: Swipe Selfish—a light frosted taupe—along the lower lash line. Blend out hard edges.
Step Seven: Line upper lash line and lower lash line with Sleek—a deep pure brown, matte. Blend out color on lower lash line to soften the line.
Step Eight: Highlight inner corner with Snobby— a sheer, shimmery yellow.
And we’re done! I did one eye for the tutorial and tried to follow my own instructions but ended up inadvertently making my face a whole Day to Night Look. Need more practice!
- Eyes: Benefit Lemon Aid, theBalm Nude ‘Tude
- Cheeks: NARS blush (Sin)
- Lips: MAC Viva Glam V
If you’ve noticed, I do looks/tutorials in this room. It’s my brother’s room and it gets the best natural light, so I always “borrow” his room when he’s at work and take pictures during the day. 🙂
That’s it, I hope this helped someone!
