LUSH Cream Eyeshadow in Sophisticated

LUSH - Sophisticated Bottle

A while back, LUSH released a color cosmetics line and I’ve always wanted to try something from there out but didn’t really get a chance to. Until recently, that is! I finally took the plunge and got a cream eyeshadow. I figured that I might as well try some CF cream shadows that I like before saying goodbye to the ones I love and have.

Anyway, I picked out Sophisticated, a shimmering taupe cream color. I tried out a couple, but I couldn’t take my mind off of this.

LUSH Sophisticated - Swatch

It’s a beautiful taupe shadow that I felt would go with most of the colors that I owned. I really fell in love with it. This is an opaque swatch, and below is a blended out swatch:

Here, it’s Sophisticated with shu uemura’s ME medium brown 885 in the outer corner and crease:

These don’t crease, by the way. The line on my eyelid is just my eyelid. 🙂

I can’t put my finger on if it’s warm or cool, to be honest. I feel like it’s warm on the swatch, but when I look at it on my eyes, it looks quite cool.

It’s very easy to use, with a doe-foot applicator/wand thing. You dot a little bit on the part of your eye where you want the color to show up then spread it around.

These cosmetics are freshly made in small batches, so be sure to check the bottom of the bottle for the date it was manufactured and the date it will expire or go bad.

Overall, I’m very happy with this purchase and I want to look into their other cosmetics. I don’t really have a lot of colors for their cream shadows that I’m all that interested in, though.

These are available in LUSH Cosmetics branches all over. LUSH is cruelty-free.

  1. The color reminds me of Maybelline Color tattoo in Tough as Taupe, but in the bottle it looks like a soft rose gold! Very pretty.

I’ve always wanted to try their cosmetic line too but I always get intimidated by the array of products in the store. When I do go try it, I’ll probably get an eyeliner or a their liquid lipstick. Also heard that their mascara is really good.

    • You’re right, it looks similar, but I suppose the finish is different. 🙂 I’d love to try the mascara! I find it so odd and cute. 🙂

  2. Looks nice! I’ve also wondered about the cosmetics line, I love how they continue to put who specifically made the item, give it a little personal touch 🙂 As for the shade, I’ve decided it’s just neutral, haha, I know what you mean about not being able to tell if it’s warm or cool. Are you planning on buying more Lush cosmetics?

    • I know, it is so great to know that hear we’re made by an actual human being. 🙂 Yeah, maybe it is just a neutral taupe! I would like to, but I’m on a spending ban right now. I will definitely look into their cosmetics when I’ve used up more of my non-CF staples.

      • I failed miserably during my spending ban, then again, starting it during your birth month was probably not the best idea. I just need to stop justifying all my purchases. I’m amazed that you stuck to your ban so strictly! I need to be more like you!

      • Oh man, I’ve stayed away from makeup but I kept buying other things. I’m going on an overall spending ban soon. I really don’t like that I keep spending, and can’t seem to stop. I mean, I have a brain, you know? We can do this! 🙂

    • Thanks, Pat! I think it’s about Php 995, similar to a MAC Paint Pot and a Benefit cream shadow. 🙂

  3. Must – not – go to – ugh – Lush.. I was thinking of going only yesterday but need to save up! You’re not helping! Hehe. So pretty.

    • Aw, I’m sorry! If it helps, these are, to my knowledge, permanent, so you don’t have to go out and look at them right away. 🙂

    • There were oranges/peachy colors and mostly greens! I wanted to see sana a warm gold one, and some bronzes or dark browns. And of course, purples! 🙂

    • I love it so much 🙂 I’m glad that this formula works well for me. I hope they release more colors!
