ASOS Haul Part 2 + Quick Reviews (Illamasqua I’mperfection Spring 2013)

Incidentally, the second part of my ASOS Haul (first part here) was comprised of Illamasqua products, two of which are part of their newest collection I’mperfection. I’ll talk about them first. The first thing I got was the Illamasqua Blusher Duo in Lover and Hussy (£26), a soft apricot and a candy pink. First impression: this thing is huge and also, I am a blush psycho person. I tried Hussy (candy pink) today, and it was great! It went well with my skin tone and wasn’t overpowering or glaring at all. I kind of wish I got the new Illamasqua blush brush, but my super soft Marionnaud slanted angle blush brush does the trick. I didn’t notice much fading, as most blushes are wont to do, so I am deeply impressed. The next item I got from their I’mperfection collection is the Lipstick in Immodest (£16). Now, I don’t normally wear pinks, but I saw it on Estée (here) and fell in love. I had to have it. Unfortunately, I don’t read properly and failed …

Playlist: What face I would wear to the Oscars

In a (tiny) fit of desperation for new non-haul, non-review content, I asked Sarie what I should do (I was going to film a tutorial for a particular look I had posted on Instagram a few days ago), and she said I should do this! It’s a pretty simple look and as it’s past midnight ’round these parts, I skipped the foundation and other face base types. Pardon the redness and spots! This is what I came up with. It’s pretty simple! I knew right away that I would wear my Guerlain Rouge G L’Extrait in Orgueil. I’m not kidding about right away. Since this beautiful, deep lip color is so intense, I decided to keep the rest of my face simple. Also, my skills are limited to this~ anyway. Here’s how I did my eyes! All over the lid, I put on Guava as my lid wash. On the outer third, I patted on Chocolate. I deepened my crease with Coffee Ground and for browbone highlight, I used Vanilla Nuts! All from my Laura …

Blush Crush: My Small Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush Collection

To be honest, I don’t think I’ve really met a blush that I didn’t like—some, I liked less, sure—but it was love at first swipe with these blushes from Tarte. I’ve amassed quite a collection of four shades over an embarrassingly short amount of time, but these are just so awesome that I couldn’t resist. Let me tell you about my small but heavy-duty collection. First, here’s the description for the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush For Cheeks: A long-wearing, supremely soft blush infused with Amazonian clay harvested from the banks of the Amazon River and naturally baked by the sun. Product Performance: This 12-hour blush universally benefits all skin types for a fade-free, flawless finish in shades ranging from soft to vivid and matte to shimmer to suit a wide variety of skin tones. Powered By: Amazonian clay minimizes oil in and around pores to balance skin and keep product in place while also hydrating the skin naturally to restore moisture, reducing the appearance of dry, flaky skin. Wow, that’s a mouthful and then …

First Zuneta Haul: Look & Swatches

A haul post—again?! Settle down, folks, I have a lot of reasons for this purchase. Granted, they may not be the best reasons but they’re reasons nonetheless. Also, these were purchased quite a while after I placed my first ASOS order. They got here quickly just because orders about £100 get a free upgrade to Express shipping. 🙂 In celebration of Valentines, Zuneta offered a 20% off coupon on all purchases so I jumped at the chance! Zuneta carries select brands like Korres, Hourglass, Rouge Bunny Rouge, and a personal favorite of mine, Le Métier de Beauté. I have been eying Le Métier de Beauté’s Indelible Inks and Rouge Bunny Rouge (because I want to see if I want to purchase them on my Japan trip), so this was the perfect opportunity. Here’s what I got! Le Métier de Beauté Indelible Ink Eyeliner in Castalia and Artemis Le Métier de Beauté True Color Eyeshadow in Alexandrite Rouge Bunny Rouge Colour Burst Lipstick in Whim of Mine Rouge Bunny Rouge Long-Lasting Eyeshadow in Solstice Halcyon Rouge …

ASOS Haul: Part 1 + Quick Reviews

Hey everyone! Long time, no see. I present to you the first part of my ASOS haul, ordered way back in January! I love ASOS because it has a wide range of beauty products, and of course, it ships items for free. The downside is that I get items about three weeks to a month after placing the order. If I can wait for the item, then I don’t mind! Now, for my loot, which came in two parts, because I was trying to keep each of my totals under £30. Korres Milk Proteins Cleansing & Make-Up Remover Wipes (£7) I’ve always wanted to try Make-Up Remover Wipes, so I got this for £7. It’s alright, nothing great. It’s a bit hard to use for eye makeup as well, just because it stings a wee bit. It works okay for the other parts of the face, but I’m sure there are better, gentler wipes that are easier to get a hold of. Will not repurchase. Korres Lip Butter in Jasmine (£7) Great product. I love …

FOTD: Gold-Aubergine Gradient & a Nude Lip

Hello everyone! I just thought I’d write about today’s look, just because I worked with mostly cream shadows today and that’s a first for me. 🙂 I also dug up one of my first and favorite lipsticks—MAC’s Jubilee. This is just a simple look I wore to lunch with my sister Isabel, and Sarie. My base consists of Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Liquid Foundation in Cheers to Me Champagne and bareMinerals Mineral Veil. Part of me wishes I got the Mineral Veil with SPF, so I can go out without foundation but still look polished. Ah, well. For the eyes, I patted on MAC Paint Pot in Rubenesque all over the lid. On the outer v and outer half of the crease, I applied Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow/Liner in Stiletto. To deepen said crease, I put on a little bit of Sexy from theBalm Nude ‘Tude Palette, and then I blended out any remaining harsh edges. I lined my eyes (pretty shoddily) with K-Palette 24H Real Lasting Eyeliner and did my brows using The …

Today’s Face c/o the Drugstore

I get a lot of requests to feature drugstore makeup on this blog. The reason why I haven’t been doing so is that I don’t use a ton of drugstore makeup, because it’s twice the price I would get it for in the States. I would rather buy something a little bit more expensive but higher end than spend my money on drugstore makeup that I don’t feel like I’ll get much use out of. After all, I buy 95% of the stuff on here. I’ve only received a box from BDJ Box and a Candy Cane Chapstick. There’s nothing wrong with drugstore makeup, but considering the Manila price point, I’d rather pay a little bit more for “better quality” makeup. Phew. Obviously, not all drugstore makeup is a waste of money. I was proven that point when I picked up the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains (review) and ended up loving them to bits. Today, I decided to use just drugstore products for my “color” makeup. I used Benefit’s Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow …
