Bare Study: Minimal Makeup Look

This look is for the girl in you who actually likes minimal makeup more than the “fun stuff.” I thought about a basic look with the brief: “No Makeup” Makeup, and this is what I came up with: — Powder all over ze face. – Thicker brows c/o of the MAC 266 and the darker side of my eyebrow powder. — MAC Paint Pot (Bare Study) on entire mobile lid, y.e.t. Cosmetics eyeshadow pencil (Nude Pink) on outer third. Matte brown blush (Tarte Exposed) on eye crease. — Smudge-y outer corner eyeliner. — Curl lashes and mascara-fy. — Dust cheeks with powder. — Make your lips yours but better. Here are the products I used: Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush (Exposed), The Body Shop Brow & Liner Kit (02), Maybelline Clear Smooth All in One Powder (05 Sand Beige), Le Métier de Beauté Anamorphic Lash Mascara (Noir), NARS Pure Matte Lipstick (Montego Bay), MAC Paint Pot (Bare Study), y.e.t. Eyeshadow stick (Nude Pink), Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Pencil (Crave). 🙂 Honestly, if I didn’t …

Travel Tip: Decanting Products

Hey, everyone. Just popping in to give you guys a really quick, really obvious tip for traveling: Decant your skincare. Get a hold of these little pots and transfer a bit of the product there. As you can see, I saved a lot of room by leaving the full-size items at home, and bringing along just what I need. It lessens the risk of product wastage, too, in case anything gets lost, stolen, or broken. So, I have the Le Métier de Beauté Peau Vierge Complexion Serum & Dark Spot Corrector, which I am in the middle of testing. The marketing for this product claimed visible results in 28 days, so I wanted to continue my testing period. Then, there’s the Aesop Parsley Seed Anti-Oxidant Serum, which I use on most nights. Sometimes I interchange it with the Mustela Bébé Hydra-Bébé Facial Cream, which is light enough to use in the daytime, too. This method raises issues of hygiene, but honestly, just wash your damn hands before you dip your fingers in pots of product. …

Just a Hint of Cranberry for Autumn

Here’s a subtle jewel-toned gradient—a perfect look for fall! We don’t have four seasons here in Manila, but I still seem to pattern my makeup accordingly, for some reason. I think the natural inclination towards the end of the year is to go a little bit darker and vampier, though I couldn’t tell you why! A really popular direction is to also incorporate lots of berry colors, whether it be on your eyes, cheeks, or lips. The focus of this look is the little peek of cranberry down at the end. I kept the rest of the face bare. Because I have no imagination. STEPS: 1. Cover the entire lid with a blackened purple base. (shu uemura x Karl Lagerfeld Painting Liner in Blackish Satin Purple) 2. Pat on a cool, periwinkle blue with violet undertones on the inner two-thirds of the lid. (Art Deco 82) 3. Apply a midtone cranberry color on the outer third of the lid. (Stylenanda 3 Concept Eyes #Saturn*) 4. Blend the two colors together. 5. Add a matte ochre …

Yay or Nay: Makeup on a Plane?

Thoughts on this? Up until recently, I didn’t think anything of people wearing makeup on plane rides. In fact, I was surprised that people skipped on makeup when they’re going overseas. I guess they didn’t want to sit and stew in their made-up faces? Is there any other reason why it’s not advisable to wear makeup on airplanes? Please enlighten me. Personally, I don’t really care either way. It depends on how much time I have. I do keep some type of hydrating lip product in my bag, in case of severely cracked lips. But other than that, I carry on as usual. For long-haul flights, I get why people would rather go bare-faced, though. I’ve never really been fussy about makeup and removal until I started wearing a ton of it, but back when I didn’t really wear much, I didn’t really have to remove much, either. It kind of just fades throughout the day, too. LOL. Which works for me, I guess! (No, Carina. That is bad, bad, bad.) Anyway, I find that …
