Delayed Gratification, Kind Of: Urban Decay Naked 3 Eyeshadow Palette

The Urban Decay Naked 3 was one of those very hyped-up beauty releases that I knew I really wanted but didn’t end up getting for one reason or another. Instead, my sister attempted to get this for me for Christmas… and she did, but with a very long delay. Which is fine, because I still like it and now I have it! (P.S. As of today, I haven’t bought a single lick of makeup for a month and a half. There is a threshold for new makeup and I have reached it.) True to the Naked tradition, the Naked 3 has twelve neutral eyeshadows, bumping the count of Naked neutrals to a total of 40. The Naked 2 has overlapping shades from both the Naked 1 (Half Baked) and the Naked Basics (Foxy). The booklet contains samples of 4 of their primer potion variants, two of which I already have. One Week Naked 2: Day 4

Hello everyone! This is the 4th day of my Naked 2 challenge with Natalie. I think she’s working on a night look today, so watch out for that when it goes up on her blog. As for me, I went towards a more rose-gold direction, as I haven’t gotten the chance to get the Naked 3 yet. (On another note, I’m super pleased with the amount of rose-toned eyeshadows that has been popping up lately. Definitely going to be a pretty season.) Without further ado… Day 4’s look! Yay, I like this look a lot! I love you, Naked 2. I put Chopper all over my lid with Tease on my crease and Snakebite on the outer ‘v.’ I didn’t realize that Snakebite had a bit of purple-y undertones.

One Day Naked 2: Day 3

Day 3 of the Naked 2 Challenge, and unlike my week with the original Naked, I don’t feel like I’m stifled by this palette as much. Even though today’s look is super simple (I didn’t even curl my lashes or line my eyes), I really like it! I just have Verve in the inner half of my mobile lid, fading into Busted on the outer half, with the outer corner very slightly deepened by Blackout. For the lower lash line, I have Half Baked smudged all the way through with a bit of Chopper on top of Half Baked on the outer half of the lower lash line. I attempted to line my waterline with Blackout. I wish I took better pictures but I had an avalanche of work-related mishaps, so I couldn’t really take more time to preen in front of a camera, lol. One Week Naked 2: Day 2

Hey all! Just a quick post right now. I’m actually about to get to work but I’m doing this challenge/series with Natalie and we both agreed to get our posts out at 12 noon everyday… so here I am, trying hard to do that. As you can see, my hair is still wet. For today, I just wanted something simple and warm-ish, so I used Suspect all over the lid, blended out with Tease at the crease. For outer corner depth, I added a bit of Snakebite, which I brought down to the outer half of my lower lash line as well. You guys seem to like it when I line my eyes, so I used a little bit of Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Twice Baked on my upper lash line and lower waterline (outer half). Yay! My Urban Decay Naked One Week Series wrapped up the other day. 🙂 If you’re new, the One Week Series as I’ve dubbed it is a week-long series with looks using a single palette. I don’t know how long I’ll be doing this, as I have a lot of LE palettes, but let’s see! Anyway, for the meantime, I thought I’d carry over the series to another less-utilized palette in my possession: the Urban Decay Naked 2. I’ve said quite a lot of times that I prefer the Naked 2, but I thought I’d show you some looks with this palette, to kind of demonstrate why I feel like it’s much more versatile than the original Naked palette. A super simple look for today’s Naked experiment. Blended Naked softly into the crease. Added Busted to the outer third of the mobile lid. Pat on Virgin on the rest of the lid. Darkened the outer crease with Buck. Lined my upper lash line with Creep and smudged it out. Curl lashes. Face: y.e.t Cosmetics Fill it Up Primer, Ellana Minerals Loose Foundation in Caramel Latte Eyebrows: The Body Shop Brow & Liner Kit in 02 Blush: MAC Powder Blush in Ambering Rose and Springsheen Lips: MAC Creamsheen Lipstick in Ravishing Hope you like it! I’m having a bit of a sick day today, but I wanted to play a little bit more with this palette. 🙂 I think it’s close to no makeup makeup look that is perfect for bright colored lips or cheeks. One Week Naked: Day 5

One Week is a series I’m starting where I wear a single palette for a week, resulting into 5-7 makeup looks. I’m starting this series with Urban Decay’s original Naked palette. Of course. For this look, I did a cut crease with a shade that I never ever really use on the Naked palette: Gunmetal. It turned out to be way more wearable than I thought. I just softly blended that into my crease and tried to do a soft winged out corner… Did it work? I used Buck as a transition shade, and Virgin as a browbone highlight. Because why not? On my mobile lid, I have sin, and a bit of Toasted in the outer corner, and Half Baked in the inner corner, just because I thought it would be fun. I did a very, very thin wing with a liquid liner. Along my lash line, I smudged a bit of Gunmetal and on my waterline, I used Le Métier de Beauté Anamorphic Lash Mascara in Tamarack. I curled my lashes and applied …
