Here is a collective haul, most of which are items that I will be reviewing for the next few weeks. Since going on the Makeup No Buy a few days ago, I’ve been seriously surveying my “collection” instead of looking for new things to buy. Here, I have things that I haven’t even tried out so much yet because I have such a huge backlog, still. I think that pretty much shows you how much I really needed to go on that ban. I pay for pretty much all of my cosmetics, except for a few sent here and there (trust me, there aren’t a lot of those), and I guess I just wanted my power over my own money back, if that makes any sense. I still do have some items coming to me, purchased before the ban. So it really won’t be so hard, I think. Sayonara, Lipstick Week: My Lipstick Collection

I saved the “best” for last. Here’s my embarrassing lipstick collection. Do I need all of it? Probably not. I think I have a nice, round collection, however, and I don’t own too many dupes. I know this because I tried to make a dupe post for Lipstick Week and failed. Ahem. I keep most of my lipsticks inside a small MUJI bag that I’ve fitted with the plastic containers. I put this bag inside a drawer because I like to keep the top of my desk relatively clean. Honestly, this isn’t the most ideal situation, but it works. Other lip products like glosses and stuff are in a clear jar. Others like balms, lip butters, lip tars, etc. are in a small drawer on my desk. OK, so let’s talk about the lipstick. A Spectrum of Flush: Illamasqua Blusher Duo in Lover/Hussy

A few weeks ago, I went on an ASOS Illamasqua binge because I couldn’t get my hands on the Speckled Nail Varnish, since they are hard to send over, cross country for some reason (I wanted Freckle or Scarce). “I just want my nails to look like Easter eggs, dammit!” I thought. In a fit of rage and a whirlwind of poor decisions, I ended up ordering a couple of things of Illamasqua, one of them being this powder duo blusher in Lover/Hussy. (You can see the rest of the haul here.) I kind of already reviewed it there already, but I wanted to be a little bit more in-depth because this powder blusher duo honestly deserves a few more words of praise. To recap, I thought it was huge. As you can see, it is. This duo is what I wanted to bring on the trip to Japan, since I could have two blushers in one. ASOS Haul Part 2 + Quick Reviews (Illamasqua I’mperfection Spring 2013)

Incidentally, the second part of my ASOS Haul (first part here) was comprised of Illamasqua products, two of which are part of their newest collection I’mperfection. I’ll talk about them first. The first thing I got was the Illamasqua Blusher Duo in Lover and Hussy (£26), a soft apricot and a candy pink. First impression: this thing is huge and also, I am a blush psycho person. I tried Hussy (candy pink) today, and it was great! It went well with my skin tone and wasn’t overpowering or glaring at all. I kind of wish I got the new Illamasqua blush brush, but my super soft Marionnaud slanted angle blush brush does the trick. I didn’t notice much fading, as most blushes are wont to do, so I am deeply impressed. The next item I got from their I’mperfection collection is the Lipstick in Immodest (£16). ASOS Haul: Part 1 + Quick Reviews

Hey everyone! Long time, no see. I present to you the first part of my ASOS haul, ordered way back in January! I love ASOS because it has a wide range of beauty products, and of course, it ships items for free. The downside is that I get items about three weeks to a month after placing the order. If I can wait for the item, then I don’t mind! Now, for my loot, which came in two parts, because I was trying to keep each of my totals under £30. Korres Milk Proteins Cleansing & Make-Up Remover Wipes (£7) I’ve always wanted to try Make-Up Remover Wipes, so I got this for £7. It’s alright, nothing great. It’s a bit hard to use for eye makeup as well, just because it stings a wee bit. It works okay for the other parts of the face, but I’m sure there are better, gentler wipes that are easier to get a hold of. Will not repurchase. Korres Lip Butter in Jasmine (£7) Great product.
